CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

HATHA YOGA

Hatha refers to the physical practice of yoga. Classes focus on breathwork, postures, relaxation, and meditation. This is an excellent class to learn the foundations of yoga in a safe and supportive environment. Postures are held for an extended period to ensure proper alignment, and build strength and flexibility. The studio temperature is usually set between 78 to 80 degrees. Each teacher will add their own personal touch so be sure to try different classes.

HATHA 1

Each class will typically include centering, pranayama, warm ups, sun salutations, standing postures, balancing, backbends, forward bends, twists, gentle inversions and savasana. Modifications are offered to accommodate all levels.

HATHA 1 WITH MEDITATION

A Hatha 1 class with an extended guided meditation. Meditation is an important part of the journey inward and a regular practice benefits the mind and body. Some of the benefits include improved focus and concentration, reduction in stress and anxiety, overall enhancement in health, wellbeing and happiness.

HATHA 1/2

Hatha 1/2 builds on a Hatha 1 classes introducing some intermediate postures. Modifications are always offered to make this a beginner friendly class.  This style of class builds strength and flexibility, reducing stress and increasing focus and mindfulness. 

No yoga experience required.

VINYASA YOGA

Vinyasa classes synchronize breath with movement. Postures are similar to our Hatha classes but they will move at a faster pace, resulting in a flow. This practice will help you build endurance and strength to explore more challenging postures, including arm balances and inversions. The studio temperature is usually set between 78 and 82 degrees. Each teacher will add their own personal touch, so be sure to try different classes. ​Some yoga experience recommended.

SLOW FLOW

Flow through postures slowly and mindfully as you intentionally unite breath with movement. This class will help you release tightness, gain strength and balance in the body and focus the mind. Modifications offered to challenge your edge or slow it down.

VINYASA 1

Vinyasa 1 will move faster than a slow flow class to elevate the heart rate and build internal heat. Modifications offered to accommodate different experience levels. Inversions and arm balances may be offered.

VINYASA 2

Vinyasa 2 is our most challenging class where you will move, explore your edge and experience a vigorous physical work out. Advanced postures such as arm balances and inversions are included.

SPECIALTY CLASSES

GENTLE

Nurturing class and accessible for all levels. Gentle stretching, sun breaths, grounded asanas and props are used to gently stretch, strengthen, and bring balance to the mind and body. This meditative practice is perfect for those who are new to yoga, recovering from injury or enjoy a more introspective class. Plenty of instruction will be given and modifications are always offered.

YOGA FUNDAMENTALS

This class is specifically designed for anyone who is new to yoga, returning to their mat or simply want to get back to the basics in a safe and welcoming environment. Learn the fundamentals of yoga including breath and body awareness, safe alignment, how to use props and getting the most out of your practice.

VinYin

This class combines the active, flowing style of Vinyasa with the passive, quiet practice of Yin. Expect to build heat in the body as you flow through postures and then slow down and release tension and stress with mindful Yin movements.

RESTORATIVE

A meditative and slower paced practice that includes a series of simple and supported postures. This class is designed to reduce stress and allow for deep relaxation. Yoga props are used to provide support and passively stretch the body.

CANDLELIGHT YIN
​& YOGA NIDRA

Experience deep stretch and relaxation in a beautiful candlelit space. A perfect compliment to the dynamic, active "yang" styles of yoga, Yin works on the other half, the deeper "yin" tissues of the body. Yin incorporates passive holds that can last 1-5 minutes to allow for a deeper stretch. Practice will end with yoga nidra, an ancient sleep-based meditation that can take you to the deepest levels of relaxation and stillness.

FLOW & RESTORE

Support your body with a soothing practice that focuses on moving mindfully into basic yoga postures while using the breath to create space in the mind and body. End with slow, deep stretch and a sweet dose of ease and relaxation.

GENTLE YIN

Slow down, unwind and melt your stress away. Inspired by Yin Yoga, this practice will use props in supported gentle yoga postures to passively stretch and release tension in the physical body, gain clarity in the mind and allow you to slip into a state of deep relaxation.

DEEP STRETCH + YOGA NIDRA

This class is a combination of yin and restorative postures designed to release tension in the physical body, reduce stress and increase mindfulness. Class ends with an extended final relaxation. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation offered while in savasana.
